Well all it had been 23 years since I had been there, but they have some funny, weird, stupid rules. One of them is that you can not ride your atv to the shower house to do your bodily functions. Pain in the neck to go and get into the truck just to do that. Not Cool! Our campsite was to far away to walk. So come dark of course we went behind the tree. The other thing that was not real Cool was that you could not go fishing from 10pm to 4am. This is the time I had planned on fishing. So I did not go fishing either. The last thing that was a pain in the neck was the shower house only had 2 showers on the men side for the entire camping facility. Plus they did not have a fast recovery water heater, so you took a cold shower. Which reaslly stinks to say the least. I want a hot shower after sweating and eating dirt all day. I know<I know, wah right.
I did learn though that I really want a new quad. Polaris makes the Outlaw with the KTM 525 engine, and it has IRS. Lots of clearance for any and all obstacles. Until I can afford one though I will just buy me some taller tires to get more clearance on my Raptor 350.
Drank beer the first day and night we were there in Finger Lakes. Went riding the folowing day. Lots of hills as Curado said. We, my son and I had not driven our quads up such inclines before. Little bit strange to say the least. Hard to get used too. Still getting used to the quad as we were a dirt bike family. Broke my Finger Lakes Flag that I had bought the previous day. Cost me 12 bucks. We all in all had a pretty good riding time. Learned more what our quads could do. Dont tell Melissa, but my son already did. That Knuckle head. I was looking forward to going to St Joe state park later this year but Melissa just had her 2nd shoulder surgery in the last 3 months. Not good for riding or camping!! Maybe next year we will have to see. We did eat pretty good though. The first day we cooked up a bunch of hotdogs, and on the second day we made hamburgers with all of the fixings both days. I am not hard to please as you can see. Maybe next time some steaks or something along those lines. king Had a good time, will probably go back even if it is a little inconvenient.

It is the BEST so far, quad or bike, that we have had the pleasure of riding. And they even have a trail for you to ride your bike to the camp store or for firewood. Love it,

Well all I believe our camping out for the remainder of the year is over. The reason is Melissa had her second surgery just last week. We went camping and Melissa had somewhat of a difficult time. So maybe next year for the camping and riding at st. joe.

Hey, forget that rule about riding to the shower house, I do it all the time, heck, I even shower with my muddy cloths on to get them clean, lol. But I do clean the shower up after I am done for the next person............So far I am planning to go to Perry Lake on the 19th, if the weather will let me, then I am headed to Finger Lake the 26th weekend to camp out. I know I would love to go to St. Joe park to ride, since it would be some where new for me, Got a stereo mounted in my enclosed trailer, now looking at having it set up with an a/c unit, then a couple of cots and I am set, lol

Re the rules at Fingerlakes: the rangers and camp workers were all over people the weekend we went, you couldn't do anything without them on it. Our neighbors even had a ranger come up out of the woods behind them in the dark and give them a hard time about talking too loud. We definitely prefer other camping areas from now on. Maybe it is better during the week. Hope you have lots of fun, anyway. Be careful!
Smiles,
Mel

Guess we were just lucky the last time that a few of us camped at Finger Lakes. There were several people gathered around many camp fires of the evening. Rode the bikes from the main trail right to the camp site. Heck, there was even somebody on a yellow CanAM that was doing a wheelie and got caught by one of the rangers. No serious repromand though!. Met a few members and had a blast.

Have had a very similar experience at Chadwick, MO. with the exception of net even seeing a ranger the whole weekend that we were down there. Pulled in on Friday evening and pulled out Sunday right after noon a couple of times now.

We don't have to worry about it down at Disney, OK on Grand Lake becasuse we just stay at my dad's trainer and it is nothing unusual to have a large gathering around the fire pit with a big ole fish fry too.

Yeap, pretty sweet setup too Jodie.

I usually don't have to worry about the flag deal yet. But, I don't recall it specifying any particular height though!
