| Alright, Great White Hunters of the Missouri Outback: We have had a good bit of deer meat over the last 22 years, actually. I have gotten it from friends off and on, and had a lot of it in the freezer thanks to a girl I worked with when we first moved here. I just cook it in recipes, and I guess Rickey never noticed it with the taco meat. I grew up in southeast Texas, and we ate pretty much anything that swam, walked, flew, or crawled at some point. Even a few bugs, riding in the back of the truck! I've gotten picky in my old age, though. I just figure that if Rickey goes hunting like he does everything else, he's going to go shopping first. And we could eat filet mignon for the whole winter for what it would cost him to get one of those lil' "bird dog" deer. Especially with processing, too. May as well spend the money on a hindquarter of grassfed angus, and then even Reg would eat it. For the record, I don't like to kill things. I even catch and release bugs if possible, because I hate to see anything hurt (works for the whole "nurse" thing, ya'know). Shoot, I don't even like to hurt plants if I can avoid it, and feel sorry if I have to cut a tree. But we are omnivores, and I understand things have to die for us to eat them.
