Perhaps they have figured out a way to bypass the stat problem where the battery doesn't charge properly?

yeah I would guess they did the CDI mod that people recommend online, try turning it on and off while the quad is running and if that doesnt turn on lights or something then it is probably a main power off switch ran to the battery to prevent it from going dead?

Cool ride though, tell him congrats

we figured out the switch it is for the lights. with the switch forward or back the tail and brake light works. I found the plug for the head lights and with the switch in the forward power goes to the plugs. Thanks for the help and i now have the greatest unckel statis. he is on cloud nine.

that switch is probley for the reverse because my dads ltz400 has the same type of switch and you turn it and lick the shifter down twice to stick it in reverse so thats my best guess

we solved the the switch problem. it was for the lights. the yfz doesnt have reverse wish it did but doesnt.
