PostSubject: 660 Raptor VS. 400 ex   Sun Feb 08, 2009 9:47 am

Looking for opinions. I have an 03 Raptor thats a pretty sweet ride. But, I just got an older 400 through some tradin on an old pickup. The 400 has +2 A-arms, Full Curtis Sparks exhaust, 450 shocks on the front, Jetted and a K&N air filter. The Raptor has always seemed top heavy, the suspension is so so, and I hate the high first gear but love the power. I spent a few hrs on the 400 yesterday and loved it. It seemed more stable, turned sharper, and the suspension felt great. I am already leaning towards selling the Raptor but would like to hear a few opinions from you guys. scratch

I thought the same thing about the 660 raptor, I rode one and hate it because it felt top heavy and tippy, every time I tried to cut a donut in grass or gravel it felt like it was going to tip. It was fast on straight a ways though. I have a 400ex now and love the way it sits and feels

I've also rode both and the 400 is all around better quad IMO.

I also have a buddy that has a 440 kit sitting in his garage he'd prolly sell if you might be interested. I'll have to check with him and make sure he's still has it if you are.

I might be interested. I need to get my bike sold first, but post a few pics on here or send me some. Do you happen to have a title?

Yep, title is still in the previous owners name. I havent done anything with it yet. Probably be around $2500. Its well worth it, I'll post up pics and details later this week.

Lemme throw this out there. If I sell the 400 for $2000 would it be worth putting that back in to the Raptor? Or putting the money from the Raptor back into the 400? scratch

you could always get a racing suspension that will lower the raptor that would be more worth the money then fixing a 400 thats just a thought

I think if you sell the raptor you can spend half or less of the money and build yourself a fast and comfy ride on the 400ex, they say the 400ex engines are bulletproof so give it a try and let us know
