PostSubject: Grizzly 660 shifting troubles   Thu Mar 18, 2010 8:00 pm

I ride a Yamaha Grizzly 660, with 4 wheel drive and diff lock. It started giving me a little trouble last year with going into gear after hitting a BIG puddle at Deepwater (you know, the ones that are MUCH deeper than you thought, and I was going pretty fast, so it kind of thumped in). It wasn't consistently a problem, and didn't make it bad to ride, and our local Yamaha shop didn't find anything wrong with it. (They actually do better on tractors then bikes, I think.). This year, I can hardly get it to go into gear, it's worse once it's going for a bit, and it is okay (not great) in 4X4 (no difference with diff lock). So, did I break a seal and get something in my gearbox? What about 4X4? Why is it better in that?
Anyone have any ideas or previous experience with this?
Thanks for any help!
Smiles,
Mel

Just for future reference, since some members on the forum answered this elsewhere:

IF you don't take the choke off, they don't like to shift gears later. Hey, live and learn! Wink
All better now!
Thanks, guys. Smile
