PostSubject: Tuttle Creek - Manhattan, Ks.   Fri Dec 18, 2009 11:54 pm

Just wondered if anyone had went to this area to ride. My son and I took his Razar out there last summer and had a blast. Lots of rock shelfs and hills. Some mud too next to the reservoir. It was a warmup/shakedown to our Colorado/Utah trip.

We were thinking of going back out to Tuttle over Christmas.....

I have drove by there several times on the way to job site and actually looked it up on the web.

However, I have not actually rode there yet either.

I have been there alot camping and driving jeeps and rock crawlers, only had quads there once though. It is REALLY ROCKY which obviously is why we rock crawled there. The quads got around good when we went but a 4x4 quad or UTV would probably have more fun since the rock tends to be pretty slick when you get your tires muddy and nobody wants to crash in a bunch of rocks lol

I believe the area was used for tanks at Ft. Riley years ago, but was handed over to the corp of engineers. It is rocky and the southern portion of the riding area can't be accessed if the lake is up. We met some real nice people the day we were out there,

This is a good place to ride. Not too far from K.C. and surrounding areas and open to all offroad vehicles.
Rocky? Thats like saying its muddy in MO. Rocks are everywhere...except sand:(
