PostSubject: Wheel sizes   Tue Jun 30, 2009 7:55 am

Ok so I am wanting to get a set of paddle tires to goto Little S. I was just going to pick up a used set there seem to be several sets out there so I figure I will just pick a nicer cheap set and go with that.

Anyway my question is what wheels(bolt pattern will fit my kawasaki kfx 400? I know suzuki z400 will, I have looked around and it seems like the Hondas will too and that Yamahas are the only one on a different pattern. Does anyone have any experience with this. There are a couple good deals but they won't be as good if the wheels don't fit.

Thanks for your help

Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki will interchange with each other. Any set will do fine in the sand.

Im running ITP Sand Stars on the ltz400 and Skat Trak Haulers on the yfz450. I had a set of Geckos and its night and day going from the sand Geckos to the ITP Sand Stars. The sand stars hook alot better and are not as rough as the geckos. If you want to spend the money the Skat Trak Haulers are the way to go, they are awesome but costly. I bought my set on ebay, sand stars on itp wheels all 4 for 250.

I run the Sand Stars on all 4 of my bikes and love them. They are the best bang for your buck.

I prefer the straight paddles myself. A buddy runs sand stars on a z400 and it does not hook up well at all. Maybe the sand was just really dry the few times he has been down with them but I know my skat tracs always hook up. I would try and ride a few bikes with different style paddles on them and see what you think

I dorre the skat traks do hook up but i had a hard time turning in the trails at high speeds. They just pusshed the bike straight. The sand stars seemed to let me turn alot better. You do give up some hook but get a little better turning from them.

Is there an intermediated tire that is both good for sand, and woods trail riding? Or are you better off having different tires for each?

I found that a curved paddle will get you a good all around, but no days they make things like gecko with a different style of tread, supposed to be good all around but not heard alot good about them. I guess it depends on what kind of bike you ride and what your mostly going to be doing, if your going to spend most of your time on the strip than ii would go with a straight, but if more trails and once in awhile on the trails, then curved. Just my 2cents..
